^ Pretty much sums up how I'm feeling currently. I've been battling with a brain tumor for the last couple of months and I've nearly finished my first course of radiotherapy and to put it bluntly I feel utterly crap, physically and emotionally/mentally. I was just wondering if anyone else has been through the same and could give me some advice/tips?

Bless your heart. While I haven't had a brain tumor, I have had radiation, and TOTALLY understand the feeling of "bleh." The radiation totally wipes you out! I felt like crap for about 6 months after I finished my 6 weeks of daily radiation. I could have slept the whole time, and I certainly didn't feel like doing anything.

It was all I could do to get dressed in the morning. I'm disabled, so I didn't have anywhere to go really, but who wants to spend the day in their night clothes. LOL That's always when someone shows up to visit. LOL

Just doing a few things around the house TOTALLY exhausted me -- I was amazed at how tired I got doing next to nothing. And going to my monthly doctor's visit was dangerous -- I'd almost fall asleep at the wheel coming home!!

I PRAY that your radiation treatment is working on the tumor!!! You can BET that you'll be in my prayers!!! I hope you will private message me, and let me know what the results are when you get your next report. I REALLY want to know! Will you? I know this is emotionally tough for you. It's difficult not to worry -- please try not to, and keep the faith. I know it's almost impossible not to worry, but it doesn't do any good anyway -- it just make you sick. Hope to talk to you soon. Hugs, Lee

Thanks for the reply Lee, its nice to hear from someone that can relate completely. Thats pretty much the same as whats going on here. I have it 5 days a week in the mornings and have the weekend as a rest, i spend the majority of the rest of the day sleeping so its a rarity for me to leave the house now. I'm 19, so im in university as well which im carrying on at home so its impacting that quite a lot however i am managing to just about keep up but I'd love to be able to get out a little more, the most i can do at the moment is leave the house in a wheelchair on my worst days and even then its only to the shop or my grandparents! I'd be happy to keep you informed, it means a lot to know! Thanks again.

I finish this course on Tuesday and have my tests start next Wednesday to find out whether its worked so fingers crossed,

Make SURE you let us (me!) know what the tests show on Wednesday!! I'm sorry it took so long for me to reply. Had a few things going on here at home.

But I've been praying, so the Man upstairs is hearing me!!! I don't see HOW you're doing your University work -- even if you're doing it at home! I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to read a book! I was SOOO tired! I'd fall asleep before I even got a full page read. And watching TV was out. I'd fall asleep before the episode was over. LOL

I'll be anxious to hear how things go. Again, you're in my prayers Kaioken. Get some rest, and talk to you soon. Hugs, Lee

Thanks for the reply Lee, its no problem I know how hectic things can be haha. Well I did get it a little wrong, the tests are scheduled for next Wednesday so a little more waiting has been involved, im not going to lie im quite frustrated with waiting but its fantastic having a little more freedom back. I'm still really tired and sleeping a lot of the time but at least now i can concentrate on getting a fixed routine back. I suppose im keeping up with my work in the pure fact that its keeping me focused on something so im not worrying myself, i won't lie im a bit of a geek when it comes to doing research and reading when i can so its quite enjoyable also especially since it involves animals. Though the downside is I have found out that my immunity is suffering at the moment which means I may need additional help for this as well, though In the long run it will help i suppose.

Thanks again for the reply Lee, I hope things are going okay for you too!

-Bump-

I got the results a few weeks ago, I'm required to have another course as it hasn't made as much of an effect on the tumor as we'd have coped. The next course started this afternoon and is slightly more aggressive than the last in the hope it will have more effect this time round. I'm not looking forward to going through all this again, the side effects have not been a welcome part of it and with a bit of luck after this course I should be in for a good chance of having a successful operation. I've been given some stronger pain relief this time round though so there is a plus haha.

I'm sorry you have to go through another round of radiation. I'm sure it must be incredibly draining. No real advice to give, as thankfully, I have not had the experience. Sending you many good wishes & positive energy, God Bless xxxx
