Has anyone here ever had it? How long are you out from work or school? My strep test came back negative and my doctor thinks I might have it. I'm scared I'm gonna have to miss a couple of weeks.

I was younger and in school, but missed some time as it wiped me out. I know those who have worked through it: some FT, some having to reduce hours, and then of course some taking time off. Do what you need to to take care of you. See what your doc says and let your body be your guide. Sending well wishes.

I got mono when I was about 17 y.o.
I was knocked out in bed for a good week or so ~ I staggered to the bathroom, couldn't stand in the shower or sit at the dining room table, hold my head up, etc. Just exhausted!! Things slowly began to improve after 2 weeks...it took less energy to go to the bathroom, do laundry, so I slowly began to add more tasks to my list of everyday things as I regained my strength. Try not to push yourself hard if you do have mono, because that can really knock you down! I think that I had to miss a couple of weeks of school, but it wasn't a real biggie. My school was pretty understanding. Very best wishes to you!!
