hi.
has anyone ever expeirneced this? when they eat something and chew down, they get a strange sensation on your teeth- as if they are totally numb?. like you're touching ice almos. i've been getting this lately on and off (it comes on really strong for a while), and at other times, you can hardly notice it- in fact it's like you never had it at all i should probably see a dentist, but only really want to do that as a last resort (really scared of them). i've been for checkups and stuff, but i still am really scared of them. anything you guys can suggest that i might try to get rid of the pain? thanks |

Is it a pain or a numbness? Does it come when you eat foods of a certain temperature, or does it occur when you are not eating or drinking? Is it all your teeth or just certain ones?

I asked about the temperatures in case it was a sensitivity issue. If it's just on one side, do you think that it might be focused on just one tooth, or more than one? This is something that you could call your dentist about and they could decide whether it was important enough to see you immediately.
When you go to the dentist, do you tell them you are scared? I did that with my dentist and now they are very careful with me. They go slow and make sure to check in on my pain and anxiety frequently. They also encourage me to ask for more Novocaine if I feel ANYTHING. |
