hi, i have many health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, severe GERD to name a few of them and am on several different medications. over the last few months i have been having all kinds of GI trouble and was recently diagnosed with IBS. While they were running tests on me to find out what was causing all my problems, they found a kidney stone that is just sitting there in the middle of my kidney and is way too big to pass. So, heres the thing. Last month, i was scheduled for lithrotispy to get rid of the kidney stone. Somehow, i wasnt told to not take aspirin for at least a week before the surgery. So, when i went in for the surgery, they took my vitals, went over everything with me including my medications and put the iv in and just had me all ready to go. they came to take me to the surgery room and my Urologist said wait a second.... then he came in n told us we couldn't do the surgery because the aspirin causes moderate risks. i thank him and respect him for this, but surgery is scary and i was all ready to deal with it. Well, tomorrow morning, i am due to have the lithrotipsy. im very nervous about it and more worried something could go wrong i think because of the mishap last month. i also have a sore mouth n throat and white bumps on the very back of my tongue (its really wierd), thought it was strep, my pcp gave me a small dose of steroid shot and some antibiotics that i finished up about 5 days ago. it wasnt' step and im still having problems with the sore throat and mouth. we think it is from the severe gerd that ive been dealing with. when the hospital called today and went over everything with me i mentioned this to them and they said it shouldnt be a problem, but be sure and let the anethesiologist know about it. So, here i sit less than 12 hours away from surgery. i have had no symptoms of the kidney stone at all which the drs found very suprising. i did also, i seen what my dad went thru when he had them 3 different times. i want to get rid of it and am thankful and excited that they dont have to cut on me, but am just very nervous about being put all the way under.... i had some surgies in 09 and had to be put all the way under and had a terrible sore throat for a couple days after the surgies. anyways, im just really nervous. i know much of my family and friends are praying for me and that helps alot!!! Just knowing God is in control, no matter whart happens is of great comfort as well. but, im still very nervous and feel i shouldnt be. if anyone has had this surgery done could you just reply how things went for you? i think maybe knowing others and hearing your story will also be of help to me.

hi echoes, just a quick update. i had the surgery this morning and everything went just fine. ive been home for a little bit now and other than a sore throat im feeling pretty good. they said since i already had a sore throat to begin with that it may be more sore for a couple days. also, to drink tons of water, lol. So, all is good and thank you so much for your words of encouragement. it is so amazing what they can do now, i am just floored by it all. i can remember my parents going thru these same surgeries and having to stay in the hospital and just the surgery itself... i am truly amazed by it all and so very thankful for it. i better get off here and get some rest, just wanted to let you know and i cant even believe i feel like being on here right now, lol.
