I've done something serious to either a muscle or the ligaments in either my ankle or knee. Both hurt like crazy. I'm having trouble walking, but even when I'm sitting with my leg stretched out flat it hurts. It's making me have trouble falling asleep.

I see my Dr. about it tomorrow, but until then I'm a mess.

are you wearing new shoes or boots? I had some that were slightly too tight over one instep, I almost ended up having ACL surgery. Fortunately a female intern pulled my leg after about 3 weeks of physio and it FINALLY stopped hurting and started healing. it was like she realigned my ligaments or something, something had got caught in the wrong position. I was in excruciating pain (like a pitbull attached to my leg) for weeks until I happened upon her. good luck!

Thanks everyone - yeah Leed my butt kind of hurts as do my pelvic muscles, pain just radiates up my leg. My Dr. says there's evidence that I tore ligaments in my ankle, and she's sending me to a specialist for my knee thinking that I've also messed something up there.

In the meantime, she wants me to go out and buy a new pair of running shoes for walking in, she says she doesn't think my current shoes are offering enough ankle support. So I'm going out to get new shoes today.

I can definitely relate to leg injuries, since I currently have severely bruised bones in my knee area and a torn ligament in my foot, after falling down some steps. I'm wearing a knee brace until my bones heal and then have to wear a foot brace, since I can't walk on my foot without further injuring it. (I've seen an orthopedist and a podiatrist.) I sure hope yours heals up well and sooner than mine seems to be. The doc said "since I'm older, it will likely take longer." I'll be 58 in Jan. Guess I should have fallen down those steps earlier in my life......

Ouch! I can relate too. I tore my hamstring in three spots at yoga! It hurt so bad and bled all the way from the top of the thigh to the back of my knee under the skin. I went to sports physio, did the rest, ice, compression, and it took months to be able to extend my leg fully. Just make sure you follow the advice to a T for quicker healing, and rest... So important. Baby that leg! Hope it gets better soon and nothing to serious .

Check out Sciatica pain too. It involves the nerve that runs from your spine through your butt and down your leg.

I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks for this!
