Laughing at something in a movie is very different than laughing at the same thing really happening. It isn't real and we all know it. It just means you aren't really getting drawn into the story. Maybe you would do better with reading novels.

laughing at actors who are playing scary or scared roles in films simply means they are not acting well enough to draw you into the film. As long as you don't laugh at real world scared or scary people then you are simply letting off steam and relaxing! laughing releases chemicals which help us feel good so laugh away!

I'm too scared to watch Casper the friendly Ghost let alone anything scarier than that so no horror movies for me.
