What is up with having to get up to go to the bathroom 4 times every night? Every 2 hours I have to pee. Why? I'm not drinking anymore than usual. This has been going on for the past 2 weeks and I'm really losing my patience. No, I'm not going to the doctors 'cause he's going to want to run a bunch of expensive tests that I don't have the money for. I don't have health insurance.
Has anyone else have this problem?

Jax~ Have you been more tired than usual? More thirsty? Sometimes going more like that and tiredness .. losing weight can mean diabetes. Alls you might have to do is fast and get a blood sugar test and/ or urine test. But then if you are.. you may have to adjust your diet and/or get on medicaid to get meds for the diabetes. I hope this is not the case. It very well could be something else. PLease look into it ok? It can be dangerous if you dont !!

What you're drinking and when you're drinking it can also affect when you pee. Why not keep a little diary of what you're drinking and when you're going for a few days to see if you can catch patterns. Alcohol and caffeine (don't forget sodas with caffeine) can have you going more and drinking anything after about 8:00. Too, are you going to bed and getting up your usual times? If you go to bed earlier and/or sleep later you could just perceive yourself as going extra times but you might have gone then if you were awake?

For me, I pee in the middle of the night because it's "safer" and no one else knows, etc. I had issues as a child and so am not as comfortable going at other times, don't do well when the doctor orders urine tests as I have trouble peeing on demand :-)

If you have a medical problem I think like Tryin says you're going to have to go for a simple test or two anyway. If you wait, things can get worse and cost more.

Hi Beth and Perna,
I hope you two are feeling well.
Diabetes runs in my family. Only, I'm definetly not losing weight and I haven't been any thirstier then usual. If anything I've been cutting back my intake of juices and I don't drink alcohol or caffeinated beverages.
Those were good calls, though.
I think it may be some kind of infection going on because it feels like all of my pee doesn't come out of my bladder.
I may have to go to the doctors to get some antibiotics. Thanks for your input. Your right, I need to go to the doctors. A urine and blood sample test and some antibiotics shouldn't cost too much, right?

Maybe try drinking cranberry juice during the day, that might help?

Hi Silver Queen,
I'll try that. I heard that it's really good for your urinary tract. I may have cystitis. (or whatever it's called)
Thanks Silver Gotta go too much at night

This may sound unrelated, but I was doing the same thing too and it turned out that I had sleep apnea.

After getting my bi-pap machine, believe it or not I now sleep through the night...........crazy isn't it. My dr said that waking many times at night and going to the bathroom is a fairly common symptom of sleep apnea.

Do you snore? It might be something to look into, although the tests for sleep apnea are expensive.

Take care and keep us posted.

Silver is right. Definately try the cranberry juice. Also, try to drink plenty of water. I know that sounds backwards, but if you have infection, you need to stay flushed. (No pun intended at all.)

Hugs,

Jan

I don't think I snore. I don't know. That's an interesting thought.
I hope I don't have sleep apnea 'cause I don't think I could sleep with that machine attached to me.
Thanks Danialla, it's something I'll have to look into.

Just a question..............do you go more during the day too?

Edited to add.........the machine is not bad at all. I have a nasal mask that I wear and it is very comfortable. Good luck.
