I hope this is posted in a relevant forum. But as of this morning, my right eye lid has been red and slightly swollen. Now it is swollen and hurts. I thought it may be pink eye; but my eye it's self is not red or irritated. I have no discharge from the eye, and it's not at all itchy. I am tearing normally. Etc.
Now, my other eye has taken on the same problem. I am honestly at a loss here. Usually I am good with figuring this stuff out but this one is baffling me. My actual eyes aren't irritated at all. But it feels like both of my eyelids are bruised. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

I wouldn't mess around with eyes. If it doesn't start to clear up in a couple days I'd see a doctor. In the meantime get a washcloth wet with real cold water and place it as a compress over your eyes for twenty minutes and see it that makes it feel better.

This happens to my brother about once a month and his is caused by his allergies. He has to get baby shampoo and wash around his eyes and in a few days it clears up. I would definitely go to the doctor. When it comes to anything doing with my eyes or ears I always want to make certain.
Good luck to you I hope it's something that clears up easily like my brother's. |

Thank you both. I think it was my allergies, it was just so odd because my eyes themselves did not get red or irritated, which they usually do. I put a cold compress on for 15 minutes, took some allergy medication, and this morning they cleared up a lot.
I am seeing my GP tomorrow; so I will show him and see what he thinks just to be safe.

I used to have horrid allergic reactions in my eyes. The best thing I ever used (besides steroids which are only for short term) is cromolyn eye drops. They used to be by prescription only but I haven't used them in a long time so not sure if they are OTC yet.
