I have a REALLY bad ear infection. As in leaking, can't lay down on that side, throbs, and may have spread to the bones behind it bad.

I'm headed to get some antibiotics tonight. Been taking my back pills (Toridol) for the last couple days to deal with the pain. But, I can only take those for four straight days max because of the severe side effects. I get an allergic reaction from anything opiate based, so codeine is out as is the other narcotics of that persuasion.

Anyone have ANY suggestions? Ive also blown another small hole in my eardrum again *cries* really bad ear infection

Sorry, no suggestions, but lots of sympathy -- I get ear infections at the drop of a hat, and they HURT. Bad. Really, really bad.

(((((((((((((((((Rainbow))))))))))))))))) I hope you get some relief soon.

I hope you get your antibiotic soon! Ear infections are not to mess around with. You can cause some real damage if you don't take care of it. *hugs* I know how you feel though! I've been there several times in my life!

yeah, I know all about the damage unfortunately.

The reason my ear gets so infected is from damage from so many infections as a child. It doesn't drain properly now, and most of my ear drum is scar tissue. There was talk about putting in tubes. which should have been done when I was a child.

Thank you for your kind words. Im surprised and how much this simple pain is taking out of me. Everyone keeps telling me to ask for some Tylenol 3s or Demerol *cries* really bad ear infection if only I wasn't allergic, Im sure Id be in floaty land right now with a goofy grin on my face, LOL!

I had one pill left of the same medication from a couple months ago with the same infection, so I took that for tonight to do me until the morning, and a Toridol. Aside from that, Im trying to focus on other things, breathing, and not focusing on the pain.

Now, I know you already know I am nuts so take this however you please. Sautee garlic in virgin olive oil and put in ear with a dropper. The warmth will be comforting. Also, antihistimines may relieve some of the pressure. I swear the garlic and olive oil feel comforting but I am a nut so......

sounds more yummy than anything, but I'll try anything at this point.

I'm not dealing with the pain the best. In fact, when Shawn gets home I beileve I shall cry, Whine, Sook, and be generally sicky poo for a while.

*cries* really bad ear infection Wise you should like this - I'm thinking of breaking out the crayons and cartoons for awhile to take my mind off it *cries* really bad ear infection

How's the ear? Did the crayons help? Warning, no crayons in ear.
