So. I needed the pain to go away. I took 2 Hydrocodone-apap 5-500. I guess its just kicking in because I just all of a sudden got this horrible stomach ache, and i'm sweating. I don't usually take any medicines at all, ever since I tried to overdose many years ago, I've stuck to ONE advil if needed. Tonight, I just...wanted to relax, get away. But now I feel more awful...

Are these normal side effects?

"Common side effects of hydrocodone are nausea, vomiting, constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, fuzzy thinking, anxiety, abnormally happy or sad mood, dry throat, difficulty urinating, rash, itching, and narrowing of the pupils. Serious side effects include slowed or irregular breathing and chest tightness"

Since it is a semi-synthetic opioid, I'd really suggest being careful. When I was in the car wreck, I was put on a semi-synthetic opioid, and it made me feel very ill. What kind of pain are you having?

Hey, it got worse right after I did eat something, went from nausea to pain. The pain was in my upper stomach just under my breast/ribs area. Its gone away now...pretty sure I won't take anymore of those...

If you're taking 1 advil, I'd suggest raising yourself to 2. And drink plenty of water after taking it. It helps with pain when given time. I hope you're feeling better.

Hey TeenIdle, thanks. I wasn't in physical pain (before the medicine), I just took them because I thought they would make me relax. And they did...until they turned on me. Lesson learned. Feeling rejuvinated now though...took the day to spend time by myself...

it has codiene in it. never take 2 without your dr telling you it is ok. codiene affects people differently.

The side effects could be worse, because your body realizes it's not in physical pain, plus 2 were taken. When I've had these, post surgery, my script called for one.

The script said I could take 1 up to three times a day, so I figured "overdose" wise it was safe. I'm going to be getting a tooth extracted whenever I can save up the money, and this will definitely be on my list of "can't take" medications...
