Hi PC Fam,
I've been missing for some time now. I have had a lot going on health wise. As of September 11th I will undergo my 2nd surgery for the adomyosis. They've decided to do the full hysterectomy. On August 17 my biopsy confirmed I had 2 cystic tumors in my breast. I will have to undergo a lumpectomy once I am healed from the hysterectomy.

35 years old and I feel like my life as a woman is ending. Very few males find me attractive anyway. Now this. They've loaded my up with so many anti- anxiety meds I am practically medicated at all times. Yet I can not deny. Today I feel like balling my eyes out. Why? I'm unsure. It is like my body is failing me. Letting me down. Giving up. What will happen to my marriage because of this? How can I afford to be down 8 weeks when I have my children and a business to run? Then turn around for another major surgery. I don't know. I just don't know........ Can't my mind around any of this......

WhiteClouds,

Watch this movie:

Pictures & Photos from The Burning Plain - IMDb

Kim Basinger is in a short but hugely powerful erotic scene in which her lover kisses the scars from her double mastectomy. Very well done. The movie is otherwise not great, I would say, because the multiple story strands are too complicated to follow, but for that scene alone, I recommend it highly.

And you won't have a double mastectomy, one hopes!

I will be sure to do so. I do plan to have a complete mastectomy since both my grandmothers both had breast Cancer.

Have you been tested for BRCA? My mother died of metastasis - 12 years after dx and a radical mastectomy on the right side - but I am not a carrier with 99% accuracy (the deeper test to know for sure was too expensive and not covered by insurance). How about your mother? Do you have aunts/female cousins?
Thanks for this!

Not sure Hamster. My mother isn't. I really do not know much about either side of my parents family. We were pretty sheltered. I didn't find out about the other breast cancer cases until I was an adult.
