When I had my upper GI endoscope at the beginning of Aug., the Dr. found abnormal cells in my esophagus and so took a tissue biopsy. I've managed to put it out of my mind and not worry about it until now. But now the appointment is coming up on Wed., and I can't help thinking about it.

I know the odds are that it will turn out to be nothing, but I can't help being very aware that excessive drinking, which I did for years, is a risk factor for esophageal cancer.

Fortunately my appointment is at 9 am, so I'll get it over with, and not have to spend all day worrying.

Wishing you good results!

I don't know how it works there, but in the US if the results are serious, the patient is called to come in as soon as possible, usually within a day or two of the surgery.
