5 days ago,I went for a dental cleaning because I had gingivitis :/ Now I'm new to flossing (have never done that before) and sometimes when I do it,my gums between my 2 teeth will hurt and bleed!(not a lot).Today while I was brushing my teeth after flossing,I noticed blood between 2 teeth and I got kinda of scared. It happened 2 times in a day.
Could that be the start of a new gingivitis or is it normal??

PS: Let's be honest,I didn't use to take good care of my gums and teeth before and I didn't brush them often, but rarely because of depression. But now I do it everyday, and my gums hurt a little bit, hope that's because they are not used to daily brushing.

It is normal for them to bleed when you first start flossing but if you do it regularly it will get better and they won't bleed. It takes a little while to toughen them up which is the idea. You're doing fine.

Yep, in my experience, I fully agree with Gayle's response.

It is normal for the gums to bleed when flossing isn't regular. When flossing is done daily, the gums quickly "toughen up" and no longer bleed.

Gentle hugs sent your way.

The hygienist said to me last time I went that it's usual to bleed a week after having a treatment. Take care.

Yes its normal to bleed a little if you're 1st starting and if you have gingivitis. Its important to do it properly. I use the string and not the ones on picks. Its important to gently go between and form a C shape on one side of the tooth. The gum goes to a point between the teeth - you should be going on each side of this point. Get a toothpaste made for your problem and use a good mouthwash after. If you don't brush your tongue, its good to start since so much bacteria is on the tongue. I even brush along the cheek as well. As your gums get used to flossing and less inflame you will bleed less.
