I went for an ultrasound on my leg today. Was hoping it would show the blood clot was gone, but from what I could get them to tell is it isn't any better. They found it May 2; my last ultrasound showed a great deal of improvement but from todays it looks like it might be worse. Won't know for sure until I see the doctor how bad it is but it is far from gone. It has really triggered my depression. I'm in tears and am worried about what they will do next. I don't have any insurance and even the medicine is expensive.

Sorry just had to rant somewhere.

I see my doctor next Monday, so until then my brain will ruminate on this until I'm more depressed than I am now. Will have to try and stay busy. I guess if it's too bad the doctor will call me as soon as he gets the results. Thanks for the hugs.

Aww Gaylegg I hope it isn't as bad as you think, and hope if anything required urgent action they would ensure that they let you know. I never really feel brave enough to post on this site much but I see you responding to others time and time again with a friendly welcome and kind sincere words. I wish you all the best, and hope you feel better soon. X

Thanks for all the hugs and well wishes. I was just so hoping it would be gone. The doctors led me to believe 3-6 months and it would be gone now it's a 7months and still quite large. I don't handle disappointment very well I suppose.

I called and got the test results. It has not changed since the ultrasound in August. So it is still from my thigh to my groin and hasn't gotten any better. I'll find out Monday what the doctor suggests we do.

Thanks for all the caring replies.

I suggest that you get medication to treat the blood clot. It will also help with your depression to have the problem treated. There must be an affordable generic blood thinner that you can take.

What can the MDs do to break up the clot before it moves? Time is of the essence here. Walk into a hospital emergency room and have it treated. The government should pick up the cost if you don't have insurance BUT you have to act now before the ACA comes into effect to ensure your hospital fees will be paid. Don't wait.

Thank, unguy. I see my doctor on Monday to see what they are going to do next. I'm afraid he will send me to the hospital and it will clear our my entire savings, but I realize how dangerous it is at this point. I am aware it could create a pulmanary embolism at any moment with death being a possible result.
Thanks for your concern and reply.

I couldn't manage walking up the stairs at work in April, and then on a walk with my wife, I was really out of breath and had to stop. The next day I thought maybe I should get this checked and the results were a p-e and I "shouldn't have been standing there". Blood thinners are working - only 20% of the blocks left to go. No apparent cause however...

have you been on blood thinners already; and are you wearing compression stockings?
i hope the dr is able to help and that the clot breaks up (and dissolves) very soon

K9sedona. I'm glad the blood thinners are working. You are very luck after having a PE.

I've been on blood thinner for 7 months and showed about 50% improvement the first three months and not any better in the last three months.

Thank you everyone for supporting me and being here for me. I see the doctor this afternoon at 1:45 cst. I will keep you posted.

Thanks again for all the warm wishes.

I'm sorry to hear that, gayleggg. I had a pulmonary embolism that came from my arm, but luckily it didn't kill me. I also had a tiny blood clot that went to my brain. It took the pulmonary embolism months to clear up. Most of it just requires time, though they did give me huge doses of Aspirin while they were trying to get rid of it. Now I'm on Lovenox injections twice a day and haven't had any trouble since. They're really not that bad to give yourself. In any case, I hope that it goes away soon. I hope your next phone call or appointment will yield more promising results.

Thanks, GhostofLavender. I'm glad you are okay. I am teriffied of needles. I can't watch them take my blood or give me shots without passing out. I'm sure you must get used to it but I don't think I could. I hope they have other options for me.

Well, I saw the doctor and he said wait another three months, taking the same blood thinner and see what it looks like then. At that time if it hasn't improved, he will take me off Xeralto and check my blood without it and see what it show. It's going to be a long 3 months. Ugh! I hate waiting. But the doctor didn't seem to concerned. Said my blood looked good for now.
