I am so confused by this. I have these random reactions to food. Food I've eaten my whole life and not had problems like this with before. An ambulance was called for the worse of these reactions and they said it was an allergic reaction. What happens is this, I eat something and with 30 minutes this happens:
-I feel it coming on because my stomach starts making weird noises and hurts a lot -My face starts tingling, my whole face and head tingles it all goes completely numb. it is one of the weirdest sensations I've experienced -my hands lock up, I literally can't move them. it's like all the muscles in my hands are stuck and I can't bend or move my fingers -I feel so anxious and uncomfortable and like i am going to pass out. -within 10 minutes i end up throwing up violently until everything is out of my system -it peaks or gets the worse for about 5 minutes before and while i am throwing up and once it is all out of my system I feel fine. Well i feel really tired. I usually fall asleep after one of these episodes but other than the sleepyness i feel fine once it's out of me. -the worst one an ambulance was called cause i was in public. i was literally feeling fine and then within 5 minutes i was violently puking. i had no control of it. my whole head and face was numb, tingly and felt weird, i was delirious, i was having a lot of trouble breathing, i felt like my throat was closing up, my stomach felt like it was on fire literally the worst stomach ache I've had in my entire life and my hands were locked up so i couldn't move them at all, i couldn't even stand and basically passed out on the floor -other times it isn't as bad. i end up with intense puking and terrible uncomfortable stomach ache until it is all out of my system but no numbness, tingling, hands locking up or breathing problems. -the full blown reaction has only happened twice. tonight and the day the ambulance was called. -when i ambulance was called i kept puking in the ambulance and they gave me an iv but once everything was out of my system i was fine so they didn't really do anything for me and it just caused a lot of stress with medical bills -this time tonight when it happened i was home. that made it much less stressful. but again the numbness and tingling set in and the delirious feelings and my hands locked up and i felt like i was dying until everything was out. but my family and i knew that it would pass so we didn't need to call an ambulance thankfully -this really scares me because i still don't know what it is. both times i had not eaten anything that i haven't eaten my whole life. and even since then i have eaten many of those ingredients probably all of them and not had these reactions. - I HAVE NO CLUE what this is. - I don't eat processed food very much anymore and it doesn't always agree with me. tonight my mom made a frozen processed meal with chicken. but ive even had that in the past month and been okay so why this reaction tonight? And the worst of the reactions, I had only had something from this cafe but it is a cafe with all local food. It was a homemade pastry. They are a very nice small business and the cook spoke to me the very next day. He said that nothing was expired, and that no one else who had reported a reaction like this. he told me everything that was in it. it was all ingredients i eat everyday and have eaten since then. -When these are happening i get very anxious and uncomfortable. I have had a history of anxiety attacks but they are not like this. this seems more food related but I really have no idea. Any advice or ideas or ever heard of something like this? |

Okay. I experienced this once. Zyrtec will usually help. Apple-cider vinegar will relieve the itch, but trust me it is not long term because you eventually have to shower before going out in public. Most hives are caused by foods. Changes in detergents or soaps. My seemed to have something to do with meds that were added.

Can you go see an allergist? Or maybe a gastroenterologist? You definitely should see a dr for prevention...this sounds very scary!

I've seen that kind of thing before and that was seizure activity. It seems weird they think it is allergy related.

Some of what you are experiencing may be migraine headache-related but I also agree with the others...you need to have this checked out. Hoping you never experience these symptoms again.

I agree with the possiblity of neuro-related origin.
You need to see a doctor- start with GP and do any work ups they think might be helpful and then honestly go to neuro or allergist or possibly both... your GP would have in put on that [and also whether an endo might be helpful as well]. You need to address this. |
