Ever since the summer I've been having completely random episodes of suddenly getting really nauseous and hot then throwing up immediately after. It usually happens in the middle of the night or early in the morning, usually not any time after that. Most of the time after I puke I'll feel a little better, try to eat something which is usually fine, then go back to bed or continue what I'm doing and the rest of the day is normal. But I had a horrible one last night. Woke up at midnight tossing and turning feeling hot and the moment I stood up to get water I felt nauseous so I went to the kitchen to get water. A few sips later... Yup. So I did my normal routine of nibbling on some fruit but I didn't even get through one apple slice before it happened again, same when I tried a bland cracker. I threw up so many times and it hurt really bad because it would keep happening even with nothing left in my stomach. About an hour and a half later I laid down and let it settle and by the morning I was a little better.
I'll give some background info that may help if someone has an idea of what could be going on. Over the summer I went to a physician about stomach discomfort and got on Prevacid to reduce acid in stomach. It still happened, and eventually I started getting massive amounts of blood in my stool. Lots of appointments went by, eventually got a colonoscopy, but it turned out to just be internal hemorrhoids. I asked my GI about the vomiting because I thought it was related to the colon stuff but he said considering my anxiety and stress problems, that's probably what is causing it. But the thing is, when it happens I don't usually feel particularly more anxious than I usually am nor are unusual situations coming up when it happens. What the heck?? I know I get nauseous with my migraines and sometimes vomit, and the episode yesterday happened after my 6 hour migraine had already subsided and felt pretty much gone. It's like no-one has the answers, not even the doctors I've talked to! I've also thought that maybe it's because of a medication, but it didn't start happening or worsen after a med change or anything... Prevacid Oracea Lamictil Cymbalta Naltroxone Melatonin Ritzatriptan Mononessa Vistaril NAC I take all of these every day. I'm getting a painful sore on my gum from vomiting so much and it triggers memories from when I used to purge, and it also interferes with having a normal lifestyle do to being afraid I'm going to hurl out of no-where!
