After seeing my primary for severe fatigue about a month ago he recommended that I see a rheumatologist because my blood test showed elevated C reactive protein levels and SED rate levels. I went to get a second opinion from a different PCP and after running a couple of different blood tests that turned out normal (other then SED rate and c reactive protein) she put me on some vitamins and told me to see her in 2 months.
I can't take 2 more months of this. The fatigue has only gotten worse over the past month. I am mentally, physically and emotionally drained and my back and neck are killing me. Am I jumping the gun by going to see a rheumatologist next week? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk |

If you're feeling miserable and if your first primary recommended the referral, it's a good idea to follow through. Both tests indicate inflammation, which can have many causes, but rheumatic disorders can top the list of possibilities. I have polymyalgia rheumatica, which is currently under control without medication. Getting it diagnosed and having several short courses of prednisone put it into remission. It'll probably come back. But getting it taken care of early saved a lot of misery and suffering. I'm also on a course of prescribed vitamins at the recommendation of my primary. But by themselves, they couldn't resolve the problem. But they did strengthen my system and give me more stamina. I hope you get this figured out soon. Don't suffer if you don't have to.
