My mom told me today that my 81 year old Grandma is sick. She has breathing difficulties and a stomach virus. How serious is that in an 81 year old? I am worried for her. She has had heart surgeries and heart disease.

I'm sorry, krisakira. How serious it is depends on why she is having breathing difficulties.

A stomach virus can cause some debilitation, but I would think as long as a doctor monitors her, and keeps her from getting dehydrated, then she could recover.

I hope she will be better/well soon.
