over the last week or so i have been getting pains in my chest, they are like a tightening . i sharp pain that starts in my chest and down my right arm, (if it was my left arm i would probably be more concerned) i have been hiding the fact that i have been getting pains from my wife and children.
but tonight the pain was so bad that i had to tell my wife, she offered to call the out of hours doctor but i refused, did i do right only time will tell.
going to see how i feel in the morning and make my mind up then weather to go to doctor or not. its still the fear that i may of damaged something inside through my past weakness (suicide attempts)

I think you need to see the doctor anyway, whether you feel fine or not. These types of pain (even without the left arm being involved) can be forerunners of heart attacks... and a simple EKG can help show what's going on... before it's too late.

Stress can cause this, but please get checked out physically.

if you are still on reading this go to the ER right away. A guy my son works with had the exact symptoms and went to the er and it was a heart attack. it does not have to be in the left arm. can be the right as well. go to the ER

My aunt's pain was in the right arm, just as your described so she put it off, turns out she had 3 mini heart attacks before the big one, so go in and get it checked out right away!!!!

YES....... do as the others have suggested and make an appointment with your doctor in the morning - ASAP!!

I have heart problems and had the exact same side effects that you have described here and I had to be hospitalized for them and with all the test they ran while I was in hospital they found out that I have two heart valves that are not working as they should...... I now have regular check ups and the doctors are keeping a close eye on the situation.
