I have a broken tooth that is very painful. I couldn't go to dentist i prefer as they are not in network with my insurance. I went to a different dentist they refuse to extract the tooth . she wants me to go to a specialist and get a root canal than a crown. Even with insurance I cannot afford this. They gave me antibiotics at least for the infection. It has me so bummed out.

Alas, root canals and crowns are expensive. I am fortunate to have dental insurance, but they still cost me a lot. Did you tell the dentist about your financial problem? Maybe some payment plan can be worked out.

If not, then you might have to see another doctor.

That's awful. I agree with Travelinglady... find another dentist or try to get that one to be reasonable. Hope you feel better soon.

Do you have a university dental school nearby? They help people in financial need get dental work done!
