Redfeetwall, Hello and welcome to PC.
![]() Glad that you joined our community of well wishers and supportive people. You have asked some questions probably best suited for your doctor. Cortisol levels do rise and fall and can alter many things to include our blood sugars as well. I hope that you find the answers that you are hoping for. Someone might come along who has experienced this and found ways that have helped them control these variations or done some research on this. It takes a little while for your first 5 posts to appear as they are first in moderation. The community liaisons and moderators are here in case you need any help in navigating this site. Best wishes here at PC. ![]() |

Welcome to Psych Central. Cortisol bursts are part of our survival mechanism. If anxiety is triggering them we are reacting to false threats. I really don't have a deep understanding of this but found these articles on Psych Central that could be of interest.
