Hi, I know at times my heart can tend to hurt.
I can feel it skipping a couple of beats and I tend to hunch over a little. I then have to stop and regain myself. I get a little scared then that I am about to drop dead or something. I then end up having a strained chest feeling. I dealt with a lot of chest pain in the past mainly due to anxiety and have always had my heart skipping beats. Even as a young child. I just wonder if it isn't something physical. I thought with weight loss and what not would help but nothing seems to have changed with it. Perhaps I push myself too much. I just wonder if one day I won't be able to regain myself and it'll whack out and I'll die. I don't want to die of a heart attack. |

I know it can be kind of scary ... and bring up a lot of questions ... it can also happen for a lot of reasons including ones that aren't serious concerns (and some that are)
Have you ever had it checked out to see what is going on? ... |

I've never gone to anyone about it. Haven't been to a doctor for a physical checkup in 5 or so years.

Perhaps I can see about it. Supposedly the clinic has a doc or something.

I hope you get it checked out; and that it turns out everything is ok
![]() out of curiousity, do you drink much coffee or other caffeinated drinks? that's one of the things that can send my heart beat all over the place |

I agree with the other contributors that getting a full physical check-up from a doctor is a good idea.
If you do have cardiovascular problems, the sooner they are picked up the better in terms of effective treatment.

I'm so slow to doing things. Another idea is just that I am stressed. I've always had problems with stress.

I'd start with your internist/PCP. It's possible to have anxiety and heart issues. Does it feel like it's turning or fluttering when you get the palpitations? If you do, i'd go get checked right away. Thyroid and a number of things can cause that or trigger it (like anxiety). So it doesn't mean it's a heart issue but please get checked. Anxiety can exasperate heart palpitations and vice versa.

I'll see if I can schedule something the next time I see the clinic I go to for my psych issues. They have the option to schedule checkups and stuff. That's in April |
