I just got a new brand of this supplement and well ... I'm normally very careful with what I eat to stay reasonably in shape.

But I do take a thermogenic / appetite suppressant as well, because I find that helps me control any random urges to eat junk, plus it makes my exercise more effective.

Anyway, yesterday I just got a new Hoodia supplement and it's totally amazing. Absolutely no urge to eat at all. I don't starve myself, I forced down dinner with fish and salad, but oh my goodness. This is sooooo effective ...

It's from the Kalihari Desert of South Africa - it's awesome.

It does not say, on either the box, the information leaflet, or the extra leaflet I was given with the box, that it affects any meds or anything.

I don't know if you can get it in America, but if you can, and you're trying to use an appetite suppressant that's chemical - or you want to - wow. I can't believe this stuff.

Anyway, just thought I would share something that's working for me. In no way does it negate EXERCISE. But it's pretty damn good Anyone take HOODIA for weight control?

I have read that hoodia does work, but only the real thing. a lot of companies selling the stuff don't contain tracable amounts of hoodia.

I read an article a few months ago that said if all the companies out there claiming to sell hoodia were actually selling it the cactus would be extinct by now.

Use caution when you use herbal supplements, because they aren't regulated. make sure you buy it from someone reputable. I know the real stuff is really expensive, so if it is cheap its probably not real.

My family Dr. told me not to use it. She said it can be very unhealthy for me. She didn't elaborate. Just thought I'd better tell you.

Hugs,

Jan

I get it from the health shop that has about a billion supplements.

And no, it's not cheap at all Anyone take HOODIA for weight control?

The info I got with it said exactly that - that there are a lot of 'fake' brands out there.

No it doesn't make me jittery at all, whereas some other stuff I've taken in the past has done.

It's just decreased appetite really, and apparently increases the efficacy of exercise.

Thank you for the warning Jan Anyone take HOODIA for weight control?

I've heard good things about it, but never tried it. Thanks for the info.

I take chelated chromium to increase the efficacy of my workouts. I don't know if it works, but it's worth a shot and hasn't had any negative side effects for me.

I've never tried any of the supplements that decrease appetite because I don't have much of any appetite anyway. One of my biggest problems is that I have trouble making myself eat and sometimes eat only once a day -- bad for the metabolism. So, I'm always trying to find ways to boost my metabolism and get the most out of my workouts.

I wish I could find a safe supplement that would help me feel more energetic. I feel so lethargic all the time, but most perk-up products cause me to feel more anxious and jittery... and the last thing I need is an increase in anxiety.

I take mega green tea supplements with hoodia in it. I take one in the morning and another one about midway through the afternoon. I can tell when I don't take it cuz I'm eating all day but the days I remember to take it I don't eat hardly anything.

I've tried it and have still got it. I haven't found that it's worked for me, but then I haven't really given it much chance to work either. Apparently it can take up to 2 weeks continuous use to work; I've never used it for 5 days straight Anyone take HOODIA for weight control?. How long have you been using it for, dsf? And where did you get it from? I got mine from Holland and Barrett - do you have that in NZ?

Hmmm I can't remember the brand.

Nope we don't have H&B here - I used to go there when I lived in Oxford though!

It seems to depend on the person. Some people metabolise it so it works immediately, others need as you say two weeks continuously. It says exactly that in the info I got with this brand. This brand is better than the last one I had I think. I am not sure of the mgs etc.
