I'm having major allergy and sinus issues to the point of making me nauseas all day. I have meds I started yesterday to no avail. They said to give it two weeks but I'm freakin' miserable. Ugh!!!!!

Have you tried using a "Neti pot" Its basically just a way to wash out your sinuses using saline solution? Helps flush out lots of the stuff that we snort and sneeze over.

I had Sinus surgery 6 or 7 years back and I had to do this following Surgery,, My ENT advised me to continue it. Takes about 5 mins a day. It drastically has cut down on my allergies.

I hope you find some relief soon

My sinuses are swollen but all the crap is going down my throat. Nothing comes out my nose really, sinuses just swollen internally...I have nasal spray for the swollenness though. And claritin for to dry me out.

If your using "afrin" stype stuff do keep in mind its addicting and if used more than a couple days its a pain to get of it as you will have rebound stuffiness. I use to over use that stuff all the time, Didnt realise my sinues were 99% both all the way around, Hense my need for surgery.

Hope you find quick relief

Yes like Christina said....I have heard great things about using a neti Pot. Also....drinking hot peppermint tea is great for sinus issues. As for nasal spray...I have found that Flonase works best for me. And I haven't been addicted to it either. its not OTC but my insurance will still cover the generic version so its cheaper for me to get prescription.

Hope you get to feeling better. I live in the Ohio Valley and its a horrible place for allergies. We literally have allergy & asthma places everywhere and almost everyone takes some form of allergy med!
Thanks for this!

I think he prescribed flonase to help reduce swelling in sinuses. Right now my problem is eating I have no appetite dont know if it is the sinus/allergy thing or the fact that i work with food all day. Not eating enough is making me sicker with all the meds I take(psychotropic(2)/foot(3)/sinus(1) some multiple times a day). Ugh! I dont like this constant nausea. Oh well...I'll go to work the next 4 days and forget about it for the most part.

No antibiotics. Just claritin and a sinus spray. I go back to the doc today. We'll see what he says. I wonder if acid reflux is causing the sinus drainage and I should be taking zantac or something. I read online that could be a cause.

Oh dont tell me that! I think Im holding off on NP phone call. In terms of my mental health Latuda is working very well and I dont want to screw that up so onto other options.

She had me on Claritin for allergy sinus drainage. Duh! Claritin never worked well for me. Soooo, gonna try Zyrtec instead which always worked like a charm when I had horrid allergies in Texas with stupid cedar trees. If that doesnt work I read GERD can cause similar problems with the drainage in the back of my throat so gonna try zantac if the Zyrtec doesnt help. After that just suffer through nausea until Latuda poops out on me and I have to change it. Not fun but I cant risk changing it when it WORKS so well and I have issues finding meds that work well.

Do you eat a snack with your latuda? Youre supposed to eat with it.
