Does anyone else deal with vertigo? I'm kinda new to having it and I'm curious how it affects others?

I get lightheaded and nauseous. My eyes do this weird twitching thing, my vision gets blurry, I'm dizzy, and the world seems to be spinning and I'm off balance. It usually lasts for a few days and I feel totally out of commission during that time. I often feel like I'm going to vomit. It's like I just got off a rollercoaster and left my stomach behind on the ride.

Thanks for sharing.

Have you started any new meds lately? That would be my first thought, but either way I think you need to talk to your doctor about it. It shouldn't go on that long.

Hi Gaylegg,

We've ruled out med side effects by changing meds, but the symptoms continued. I've been to an eye doctor too and he said nothing was wrong with my eyes. I have an appointment next week with a regular doctor to start figuring out what else this could be. Vertigo seems the most practical answer, based on the research I've done, but it could be a middle ear infection, or impending seizure (doubtful), or a whole host of random stuff.

Thanks.

I get vertigo when I have fluid in my ears from allergies. Have you checked your ears?

Thanks, Hallie. I don't think there's fluid in my ears. I'm seeing a doctor this week and hopefully can get a diagnosis and a way to treat whatever it is that's going on with me. I also have rapid involuntary eye movement (finally was able to find a name for the weird eye twitching thing that's been happening) and some tinnitus (ear ringing) going on with it too, in addition to the nausea and resulting vomiting that's happened. I think it's just vertigo but I read about something called Meniere's Disease. Getting ahead of myself though. It's most likely just vertigo and they can prescribe something for it.

Well, I had a doctor's appointment today to get it checked out but the doctor was sick so they cancelled my appointment. I have to call them tomorrow to reschedule. Sigh. It's always something.
