I am off to stay with my sister tonight because I am having surgery tomorrow. I am blessed to have a great support system. I am not nervous about the surgery (having my gall bladder removed and an enlarged lymph node removed and a cyst from my ovary removed). I am a little nervous about the lymph node. But I am more nervous about my recovery time and taking any pain meds, because I do not do well on them. I also am so hyper most of the time that it is so hard for me to have to slow down. I know it's good for my body and for my health, but I still don't always like it. Also, I have great people to help take care of me, but I always feel a little guilty when others have to care for my needs. I usually like to be the one to help others. It is humbling to need help and I struggle with that a little and need to work on receiving help from others and being grateful.
But overall, I am really excited that I am getting help with all of this, because my health has been horrible for the past year almost and it has really impacted me quite a bit and I am ready to be healthy again!
Anyway, I won't likely be posting for a bit (hoping I bounce back easily like I usually do) and would appreciate prayers for the worries I have expressed above. Thanks so much!!!

Good luck with the surgery, and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Recovery is not going well, I am sad to say. Having much trouble with indigestion, gas and bloating and nausea. The hope was that I could get relief and eat again, but I have more pain and less desire to eat than before the surgery. Also, dealing with narcotic pain meds and my system has always been a problem. They recommend walking a great deal, so I am walking as much as I can. Have GREAT family and friends caring for me. I guess I was hoping to feel better in a few days, but it looks more like it could be weeks. Oh, well. Got some nausea meds today and able to eat a little bit more today (still have to force myself to eat and am not hungry at all). But mostly prayers and everyone being so supportive is what's getting me through. I am exhausted, but I do believe things will get better. Thanks for checking!

You've had major surgery and they did quite a bit of poking around. Your body is reacting to that and needs time to recover. Follow directions, treat yourself well and enjoy all the good wishes. You'll come along in no time.
