I highly suspect I have IBS, and that it's been acting up since Saturday morning or possibly the Friday evening before. My stomach feels bloated, and gurgles a lot, and I get an occasional pang of a shooting pain through my right side, like I've got a stitch there from running to hard. The thing is, I've tried some over the counter gas relief medicine, and even some yogurt to help settle my stomach, but nothing seems to really be doing anything.

My IBS tends to flare up when I'm really anxious or stressed, and right now I'm very VERY much stressed and anxious, given recent events. Anyone have ideas on how I can relax a bit and have this IBS under control again?

I would diagnose gall bladder issues with the gurgling and right side shooting pains. Im like the queen of avoiding gall bladder surgery. I stay away from fried and fatty foods or else i pay.

Are you taking any probiotics or digestive enzymes?

If constipation is the main issue, take extra magnesium, and if diarrhea is the problem increase your calcium as magnesium is a laxative and calcium is very constipating--I read this advice on an IBS forum several years ago.

Gall bladder, huh? I haven't had much to eat in the past couple of days anyways...just chocolate and soda. Basically my comfort foods. If this doesn't stop by Monday I'm going to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist. My stomach is churning and twisted into one huge knot that just can't get undone, no matter what I try and do.

I couldn't sleep last night and now my upper right abdomen is gnawing away with pain. If I press gently in just the right spot, it really hurts. So, as soon as Urgent Care opens up, I'll go in.

Lots of bloating and gas and some constipation. Not fun.

Went into Urgent Care and the doctor felt my abdomen and then had some x-rays of it taken. He then diagnosed it as constipation, suggested Phillips Milk of Magnesia and said to take it easy. Went to the grocery store and got a few fruits veggies and the Milk of Magnesia along with some fiber supplements (they are fruit flavored gummies). Now my bowels are in overdrive as I have taken the Milk of Magnesia and a gummy.

He gave me some signed notes so I could take off of work tonight and tomorrow, but I am stubborn and will work through this.
