I just got various meds and already had various symptoms/other problems that may/may not be related; how long was it before you noticed differences and what sort of differences did you experience? I only had very subtle difficulties that I suspect were directly low thyroid linked but have other problems I am hoping will get better too as a result (I'm greedy :-) but don't know to what extent meds will help and to what extent expectations/hopes will help/provide a good placebo experience :-)

Some meds can "react" rather quickly but other will take weeks. And some psych meds can cause low thyroid.

I'm on 200mcg of synthroid and it still took weeks before my thyroid (which was almost not functioning at all) finally made progress.

If you are at all concerned call your doc.

I'm not concerned, just curious :-) I'm only on 75 mcg's, synthroid too. Thanks for the info. I read it can take 2-3 weeks so was just wondering if it can be sooner too, etc.

Hi Perna,

Give it about a month. Then the Dr. might want to take another blood sample and see if she needs to increase.

My Dr. just increased my from 125 mcg to 137 mcg and I can't believe the difference it has made!

Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Hugs,

Jan

I seem to remember a couple but it has been a long time since I looked it up. sorry

However, lithium is known to contribute to hypothyroidism.

I don't know how long you have to take it or doses or anything like that.

I recently came across this website and thought to share it here:

On the left side, scroll on down, you will see a 'thyroid forum' . Enjoy.
