My dr wanted to start me on some medication "mitazapine" but they wanted me to have a ECG first.I saw the dr today about the results and the medication.
Theres a bit of a problem? The dr says my ECG is showing "Tenting T Waves" I dont know what that means but as a result i need more tests.Firstly a blood test to check my potassim then she will look to see what other tests are needed.Because of this I cant start on any medication. My Dr seems concerned and i find it all a bit Odd as she was we'll start you on this "excellent medication" but because of the results thats not possible.

Does anyone know what "Tenting T Waves" are?

Tented T waves can mean too high potassium:

Did you call your doctor back and chat with her, make sure there's nothing she wants you to do/try/stay away from while you wait?

I havent actually but maybe i should. We dont know if my potassium is high and she didnt seem to say much to me.But to wait 11 days then a week.Would mean we dont get results for about 18days and if it is high that could be a serrious problem. My Gp isnt much help at all and she only works on mondays.

From what I read on this subject I would say that while the wait is dreadful to the mental mind your doctor is not giving you any medicine to take at the moment as the cause of the T-Wave maybe be different than what she first thought it was, therefore, your doctor cannot properly treat the condition until the test comes back and she knows exactly what the problem is.
