I am having a sleep study done in the beginning of september. I am just curious how they are going to diagnose a sleep disorder when part of my problem is that I am bipolar. I know that I have RLS already.

I have had 3 sleep studies done. They just hooked me up to all this stuff and let me sleep. I took a sleeping pill along so I could sleep.

How well/poorly you sleep can influence your bipolar, not necessarily the other way around:

Having a sleep study done may not be the thing that solves all your problems, but it probably will give your health care provider(s) a better idea of what going on overall. A diagnosis of a sleep disorder, if they are able to make one, will just contribute to your overall treatment plan. And it may take more than one study, if they determine that it's necessary.
