So i went to the doctors today she looked in my mouth said i have thrush and that my the back of my throat is red slightly.im waiting for my results but i actually had a question.so whenever i brush my teeth i like to use extremely hot water enough to burn my tounge.i never thought of it as a self harm thing till my mom saw me do it. But my question is can thrush be caused by burning your mouth with hot water?

I think it can. If your skin is raw all the time from burning, I am pretty sure that could invite thrush.

yes, perhaps "cause" is not the right word, but stripping your tongue of it's protective bacteria is not such a good thing. the good thing about thrush is it can be treated very quickly and easily with a pill called Fluconizole. ask your doc about it .
