I was not sure where to ask this so I am simply asking it here.
What does it mean when your doctor looks at you left hand and "checks" for a wedding ring to see if I am married or not? Then while I was on the bed facing down getting the electrical current/waves put on my back to loosen me up he let's 3-4 minutes pass after the beeping goes off and I hear him behind the curtain reading and flipping through my paperwork. It could all be in my head but this last time he said "Let's try a new move" so he stood behind me pressing his body into mine and put his hands behind my neck and then said for me to place my hands behind his. Then he pulled me up and cracked my neck. Just curious what an outsiders thoughts are on this. |

If you are uncomfortable with your doctor, I would find another one. There's nothing, if he has the motives you ascribe to him, that would be unethical or illegal, just creepy. Find a doctor that you are comfortable with.

The move is a common one. The time you spent on the table I don't believe questionable. However, the grasping of your hand leaves me troubled. I am trying to think of legitimate reasons for doing so that wouldn't have involved the checking for a ring. I am coming up with none. Creepy then, very. Find a new one.

He didn't do anything overtly unethical. But if he's creeping you out I would definately get a new chiropractor.

I had a chiro who did similar things to what you've described. Finally, he told me a really inappropriate joke. I never went back there. The whole thing was very upsetting and I wish I would have stopped seeing him the moment I sensed his creepiness.

HAHA! I appreciate your guys honesty. I have 3 sessions with him this week we will see how it goes. I can not find a new chiro as my work is paying for it.

Hi, Ever84, and welcome to Psych Central! He sounds flirty to me. You might have to nicely put some limits on things. I've heard of chiros who cross the line and reach where they shouldn't.

My chiro twists my hands like that too, hes not checking for my marital status, he is well aware of it. But he is a FANTASTIC chiro. He is half my age (im 65) and he looks like ryan gosling, only with more muscles.
