so... I went to MD's... for a check on my asthma..

while I sat in waiting room.. a hornet stung me.... wow.. didn't see it.. don't know where it came from...

stung me.. on the inside elbow.. where the senistive skin is..

so MD... told me... looking at the sting.. that I was "senistive" to them.. and by Sat.. the 3rd day.. it would swell to 3 times the size..

so... it reallly.... reallly hurts..

it is hot.. really hot...

so Help... help... I am not a baby... but this thing throbs.. and has a "life" all it's own...

it is now sore all the way up my arm.. and all the way down.. plus.. the site is very inflamed...

Swallow some benedryl,,,and put a paper towel soaked in white vinegar upon the sting...both will lessen the pain,,swelling and length of event...

That should do it....

It hurts...don't it...?

nasty bugs,,,

Make a paste of a very small amount of water and meat tenderizer. It's an old, natural "trick" that really works!

now i will run really fast if i see one of them hornets! Benedryl works wonders, i think that is a great suggestion. But if it gets really bad, i would see the doc.

Ice.

Can you take aspirin? If so, put an aspirin in a piece of wet papertowel and place on the site. (Aspirin is taken directly into the skin and will help with swelling and pain.)

A wet tea bag (not decaf) can have similar pain relief (it's the tannin.)

I assume there's no stinger in the skin... it you didn't see it, how are you sure it's a hornet sting?
Fire ants, spiders, mosquitoes etc...

I think your doctor was insensitive. He should have given you a shot of cortizone or suggested what measures to take for this. Call an allergist and ask for advice over the phone. Being allergic to stings is a serious matter. Each time you are stung it can help you to become less allergic to that insect, or might kill you. Usually you know within 30 seconds which way it will go, if you are sensitive.

Glad you're still around! However, swelling is not good for the body, especially if it does impeded blood flood.

Get help.
