Except for caramel apples (which I don’t think count) I have not eaten any fruit since the middle of August.
I really have no desire to eat any common fruit like apples and bananas. It’s totally unappetizing to me. I’m just wondering, is it necessary to eat fruit? Like are there diseases you can get? I’m having digestive issues. My stomach is making this noise like the aliens from the movie Signs make. I am wondering if eating fruit and more vegetables (I eat about one serving of vegetables a week) and less French fries and rare meat that would make my stomach feel and sound better. I’d like to try Paw Paws and lychee. But considering I couldn’t even find Paw Paws at a farmers market in Michigan (where they are grown) and the only lychee I can find is canned, I think I’m out of luck. Does anyone know of any fun and interesting fruit to eat that’s in season and relatively easy to find? |

Yes, there is a disease called Scurvy that one can get if they don't eat enough vitamin C, which comes from fruits and veggies. Scurvy starts with sore limbs, headaches and gets much much worse. A lot of sailors from previous centuries would fall victim to it as they only ate salted meat and hard tack (a sort of hardened flour wafer).
However, as long as you counterbalance your veggie intake with the lack of fruit intake, you should be fine. It sounds like you could use more fiber in your diet to move things along anyways. Rumbling stomachs mean lots of digestive upset from lack of things moving smoothly along.
