So I am giving it a try again. I figure if i have to diet the rest of my life that's better than surgery "a forced diet" according to my doctor. Because if i want a "cheat day or meal" I would still be able to, whereas with the surgery not an option. So I signed up and the first meeting is tonight.

My first goal is to lose 70 lbs, ultimately 130 lbs.

I restarted again last week, my first home weigh in is tomorrow, or maybe saturday. I like to weigh in after i take my diuretic.

But i have been exercising 6 out of 7 days, and got a blue dot 6 out of 7 days. I have 13 weeks until i see my doctor (12 more now). I am pretty sure i lost at least a couple of pounds - i weigh myself almost every day.

I did have cake today, but i stayed within my weekly points, and just ate fruit and salad besides. So heres hoping.

I also have 130 lbs to lose. I am going at it pretty aggressively this time. Time is running out.

Wow you're good. I haven't started exercise yet. Starting an exercise program Thursday. Getting a physical Wednesday.

I Feel like I need to go to therapy because I have been dieting my whole life and I am growing despondant over it. I just keep going round and round trying to diet and NOT losing. I can hardly consider it again. I have done weight watchers, Nutrasystem, HMR. Phenterimne, Belviq, low carb, eat right for your type...

And I am back to that -- again. Though I know it is going to fail because it basically is so restrictive. What is that definition of insanity... doing the same thing over and over again and thinking it will be different.

(((Emily))) man i totally know what you mean. Therapy helped me because at some point you realize its something YOU have to do outside of therapy hours. Watching My 600 lb life and Hoarders also helps me.

I just want to know why it is so hard for me and why it is so impossible for me to change eating habits. I know people who decide on a dime they want to be vegetarian or something and do it -- forever, and I can hardly say no bread for 2 weeks.

I can eat the same things for a few days, then i need to change it to a different same few things! I am also finding it helpful not to wait too long between meals, so i dont get too hungry. Something is definitely wrong with my attention mechanism there. I could not survive without a microwave and a can opener.

Well I used to basically starve and exercise a lot to lose weight. Ww lets me eat and lose but I'm getting veggied out sort of. I'm making changes but I'm struggling this week.

My biggest issue is working and there is no way out. I got up today at 5:00 and will be at work at 8:30. My terrible public transit will take me hours to get here. I have managed to eat when I get to work but I am out of the house for so long.

Tonight I will get home at 6:30.

even if I bring things to work the extended day tends to make me want to eat more than usual

I have lost weight a zillion times but, never keep it off. I feel like it is due to the fact that I feel like I have a slower metabolism. I am giving up wheat for a month to see if anything changes... everyone says wheat can slow your metabolism.

I switched to white bread myself. Went to water aerobics today with my mom. Feeling good.

Ok I think I found the key. Find and read the obesity code by Jason Fung. (you can find him on you tube as well) This is it. I have already lost 3 lbs in two weeks which is much better than my typical 1 lb per week and, I don't feel like i am struggling.

He suggests that the reason we all struggling is that we have too much insulin. We are insulin resistant. Thus, your body stores most of the food you get in a day away as fat and doesn't burn it off.

Once you fix your insulin resistance, via intermittent fasting, your body will again work properly push your food into the cells to be burned off and your RMR will go up because it will sense you are getting more energy thus it needs to increase its calorie consumption.
Thanks for this!

Well I've never had meat cravings so going vegetarian was easy. Things like sugar and bread are just harder to give up. It's not you.

Well I'm seeing a diet coach as well. I'm learning healthy eating and struggle to follow it verbatim but I'm doing good. Losing weight faster with her tips.
