I realized I am having way too much caffeine all the time.
I am reducing my caffeine intake to 4 cups of coffee a day (which is equivalent to 48 oz of coffee a day if my mug calculation is correct). That means, according to the research I've read, that I will still be consuming around 800 mg of caffeine a day. This is down from the near 1000 mg I was having before of caffeine per day. I am going to try this (4 cups a day) for a week and see how it goes. Then I will go for another reduction, etc. Hopefully I'll get off of caffeine this way! The reason why I'm reducing my caffeine intake is because I noticed it affects my sleep. And I have also read a lot of research that says it affects emotional health, too. I am curious about that, as well, so I have decided to cut down on it. Anyway, I just posted this thread to keep me accountable. ![]() |

I only drink at most two to three cups daily. I know that if I drink caffeine continually it will lose its effect. I don't drink it when I don't need it.

I actually was able to drink only two cups today. I guess that equals like 400 mg caffeine.
I don't know if I want to quit entirely though. I tried drinking absolutely no caffeine this morning and it was almost impossible to wake up, haha. So I had two cups. |
