For hemmoroids? Right now I can barely walk and I’m in a ton of pain but I’m using over the counter stuff and I don’t want to just rush over to the doctors tonight. The hemmoroid is pretty big, almost covering one side, and it’s like protruding out. Sorry, I know that’s gross. But it’s been causing me a lot of pain and a ton of stress and anxiety since yesterday morning.

Ya know, i was gonna comment in the weight loss thread that i thought you needed more veg in your diet, but i said to myself, Self, MYOB.

I have had 4 or 5 hemorrhoid surgeries over 40 years, so i would be glad to share my expertise with you! My mother and father, and my mother's sister also have had them, so we dont even have to ask the nature / nurture question: it was my fate, my destiny.

Taking a hot bath can help relieve the pain. And aspirin or ibuprophen. Some people try to tuck it back in. Or sit on an ice pack. Whatever works.

The protrusion usually means a clot has formed, that will need to be removed surgically or with a rubber band. You want a good doctor - i once interviewed a dr from "the yellow pages" (olden days) - he was sketchy, expensive, and predicted a really long recovery. I didnt go to him.

I did best when i went to drs that my own drs referred me to, or drs in clinics i was already a patient in.

I wouldnt walk in to urgent care, this needs a specialist. Check your insurance?

Let me know if you have any questions? THIS, i am an expert on! Unfortunately! However, i am now maintaining very well.
Thanks for this!

If I went into my primary tomorrow, he’s located inside a hospital, could he just send me to the ER and then day surgery for OP surgery? Will there be someone who can do it there?

Its usually not considered emergency? So i dont think you need to get processed thru the ER.

Is it okay for you to go see your primary for just a referral, or could it be handled by phone?

Hard to guess how fast you could get an outpatient surgery scheduled. Ive been in crowded waiting rooms, but one time my t referred me to his own butt dr and i went right in. The dr had an office in the hospital / clinic.
Thanks for this!

I woke up at 2:30 this morning in a lot of pain. I couldn’t fall back asleep. It’s difficult and uncomfortable to use the bathroom. Not impossible though. Forget using toilet paper though. I called my doctor. He’s not in so I’m waiting to hear back to see who else I can see. That was at 8 and I’m getting antsy and thinking of calling my gynecologist to see if she can see me for this. I still don’t have an appetite. I just feel very unwell and not like my usual self.

Try baby wipes? Hemorrhoid wipes might be too stingy at first, but they will relieve pain.

Gyno should have a referral.

Are you eating oatmeal, broccoli, fruit, drinking lots of water? No eggs or cheese or meat. Also stool softener will make it easier to poop. Its not a laxative.
Thanks for this!

I have a few small hemmoroids and I also have a small cyst on a pretty big cyst that needs immediate action. The cyst is why I’m in so much pain. I’m trying to get into see a gynecologist.

I had endometriosis for a short while, the pain had me doubled over and sweating. This was in the late 1990s. I recently read that massaging the spot(s) helps, per research. My gyno at the time said massage wouldnt help, but i was like, if its just a bit of tissue on a microscopic nerve, why WOULDNT massage MAYBE move it a millimeter out of the way? So the research finally caught up with me. Plus it at least made me feel like i was doing SOMETHING.
Thanks for this!

The cyst abscessed. I had a slight fever so I went to the ER tonight. I had to have a procedure done to drain it. Worst pain of my life. Novocaine in my vagina. Then a few minutes of incredibly painful needle pinches. I didn’t scream but I sure had a reaction. A lot of jerking my legs and stuff. The nurse was telling me to relax. The doctor kept saying it was almost over. They couldn’t even put the drainage in because I was having such a tough time with it. After that I got so stressed out my blood pressure just dropped very low. The nurse had to turn off the lights and put the bed all the way down and put a compress on my head and give me water. I’m at home now in bed. The doctor still wants me to see the gynecologist tomorrow.

I’m at home and in bed now. But god that was so painful.

Now the cyst is back... she said it could come back. I have no idea why. I went to bed at 4:30. Woke up at 9:30 and there it was and very painful. It must have been the run that’s the only thing I can think of. I am really nervous for several different reasons.
