My ALT level came back at 34. Apparently that is indicative of fatty liver. Does anyone else know your ALT level and/or have information about fatty liver? Thanks!

Dear BethRags,

I have been diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver and am just starting to do research on it. Sorry that it afflicts you! Wish I knew what to say to be helpful but I am just at the beginning of my search for answers. Hope you will be okay!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

Thank you very much. I'm sorry that you have been diagnosed with fatty liver and I hope you can reverse the damage.

I used to have one before I lost weight. I do have high hemoglobin which I think? Is similar. But I don’t know. My primary doctor said it could be a result of possible sleep apnea or just a side effect of the meds he prescribes for me.

I do they said my liver looks like an alcoholic liver. That was 16 years ago. No one mentioned it since. I really have no advice now i have a cyst on my liver. Benign but I'm basically healthy otherwise. Minus being fat. Figure if i lose weight it'll correct itself.

I have a fatty liver. I don’t drink at all. My GP said it could return to normal if I cut fat and carbs out of my diet. I need to lose weight but I had fatty liver when I wasn’t even heavy. And I am not on any meds. Besides like occasional over the counter headache meds or stuff.

An ex-colleague (aged around 30) was diagnosed.

Doctor told him it was poor diet. His wife would never cook so they either ate takeaways or her parents provided meals. He admitted little of it was nutritious. He wasn't overweight though. Don't know whether he ever took doctor's advice or continued to have lots of sick leave!
