You know what pisses me off fatphobes in the medical business... So I gained 29kg from antipsychotics and have been unable to lose it the other day he suggested bariatric surgery on a 25 year old with no diabetes or insulin problems. Holy what the hell. Nah screw that I'm not getting that horrid surgery I'd rather have my legs cut off plus it's not like I'm that overweight he wrote I was morbidly obese!!! My BMI is 35 hardly freaking morbidly obese!!! Screw this crap. Who does that I have OCD now I'm gonna obsess about something that's not even that huge of a deal. Fml

I'm honestly over the discussion I've been ideal weight didn't matter my weight I was unhappy, for me I'd rather be happy then have a perfect body. I just wish they'd drop the subject. My sister's fiance probs have a BMI higher than mine but no doctor tells him to lose weight. I'm over the subject, over annoying my sister over it. I have to get the balls to fix my inner self esteem first, then maybe I'll try and care about my weight. I'm young I feel like I didn't need the sermon on my weight, when it probably my mental health that's maiming me the most

Hey @black-roses

Reason I ask is I was 30 and the only reason it wasnt in my 20's is because my last child was born when I was 28 and had my GB out,it is a life saving tool for a real issue. You may not have the health effects now, i had some but not all of those issues but not having them at the moment you have to decide on surgery just means your still lucky. ' If you are obese and on antipsh meds it will be near impossible to get the weight off and prevent more weight gain. and aside from what you are eating those drugs have a black box warning because they raise your liver enzymes and blood sugar to a prediabetic level. I had surgey in 07 at 302lbs. I have lost 127lbs and fluctuate up or down by 5 lbs. I was also on an AP geodon. 17 years! It was prescribed for post pardum psychosis and my old school doc never took me off. All of that combined with tardative Dythskenisia Withdrawl was brutal, triggered sever insomnia and of course the movement. I started Ingrezza and they are getting better. I am just wondering how you came to this opinion.

Just from what my sister and other doctors said about it. They said it wouldn't solve the issue if the problem is because psychological reasons like over eating for emotions. Honestly I've had other surgeries and have nearly died from infections. Maybe it's helped other people but I think for me I need to find out the psychological reason why I keep gaining weight and losing it about every three years.

Don’t worry about your weight, eat less, and focus on how to lower your cholesterol. If you are motivated to walk a few days per week do that, and forget about weighing yourself obsessively. Check your cholesterol every three to six months and/or if you notice clothes fit looser than before, then reward yourself with new clothes. In another post you mentioned cholesterol.
