I'm being put on a different type of non psych med that has to come from a speciality pharmacy by air mail.
What does all that even mean? It sounds expensive.

I have had a few prescriptions that are not carried by the usual pharmacy and had to be obtained through specialty pharmacies. Oddly enough, they were often less expensive (often free) because of special coupon plans from the manufacturer (for a while at least).

I used to receive BOTOX injections at the neurologist's office to help prevent migraines. At some point I had United Healthcare for insurance and they had the BOTOX vials sent from Briova, a specialty pharmacy, directly to the dr's office. Yes it was expensive, even with insurance. On other insurance plans, I did not have this happen.

So I found out this med is in the same tier as another new med I'm being put on which is only going to be $15.
So I'm guessing this will be a similar price?

I am literally about to lose it. A pharamacy called on my moms phone and my mom acted like an 80 year old lady and said "huh? Yeah you can send written instructions. I can't hear you."
She said it was the insurance saying I'm elligible for mail in prescriptions but she couldn't hear them so she told them to mail info to us I am FUMING. I DO NOT want to wait 6 weeks for a letter! I need this now! I barely slept last night because I stressed so much over this.

If you can get on your health insurance website (there should be a name on the back of your health id card), you should be able to switch all your prescriptions over to the same mail order pharmacy in one fell swoop. Then you just call in or mail back the forms when you need a refill. My mom got all her meds by mail.

My mom says this call had nothing to do with the new prescription since the new prescription is too much for them to handle. This wasn't the speciailty pharamacy that called. she claims. It supposedly has to come from some other super far away pharamacy or some **** like that. One in like Minnesota.
But the med my pdoc called in is ready. He sent it to the wrong Walgreens. Lol. How is that even legal.

I still haven't heard anything from anyone. I need to figure out my next step soon. Gotta contact my doctor on Monday probably.
The last info I got was on Tuesday from the pharmacy and they needed more info from my doctor so my insurance could pay for it.

I have a rare disease and take two injection treatments. I receive them through two seperate speciality pharmacies. I select the date I need to receive my shipment and I can select morning or afternoon. I also am assigned to nurse educators that train me on injections. Cost: It depends on your health insurance company and which plan you have. Most pharmaceutical companies offer payment assistance programs. Payment assistance is usually not offered to individuals receive Medicare and/or Medicaid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My insurance was just like no.... a bunch of times. My doctor even tried throwing in a fear of needles. Whatever that means. Now my pharmacy is out of stock of my needles and I need them on Tuesday. Its not urgent urgent that I get it on Tuesday. But it can cause issues if I go too long with it.
I don't get insurance companies. They will cover prescription Ray Ban sun glasses but not a important med?

I didn't even need my insurance. I'd be paying $750 with insurance. $450 without. For a 3 month supply. Still super expensive but I am just stuck on where I am at with my current stuff.
