so i told you guys about this job in new york and how there was a good chance of being bitten by ticks. well i went to the e.r. last night and have lyme disease.

i woke up yesterday morning and couldnt move a muscle. i eventually went to work and then took a 3 hour nap after work. then later yesterday i started having horrible body pains. by 830 last night i was crying because my body ached so bad. i was dizzy, had a headache... the works. so my boss took me to the e.r. and i have to take Doxycyclin for 30 days, twice a day.

luckily, being on this antibiotic for a month basically guarantees that I wont get it again while Im here. I guess it stays in your system for quite a while.

Im much better today and my body aches are almost gone. so if youre ever in the catskills... check for ticks! lol

Glad you got it quickly before it could "fester" and cause more problems later.

lyme is nasty. I had it awhile back. You are lucky they knew what to check for. A lot of people go a long time before being diagnosed.

Hope you feel better soon.

yeah, unfortunately the "tell tale" sign of a bulls eye rash is only in 60-80% of cases and i was not one of them. luckily my professor (whom im working under) told me exactly what it feels like (hes had it before) so when i woke up and couldnt move a muscle I knew.

i feel 1,000 times better now.

thanks for all your responses! i got the lyme :(
