When i get home. I want my vitamin levels checked, i want to be checked for several conditions including lyme disease, and to find out whats going on with my bowels which have been going crazy since a few months now. I also want my hormone levels checked and I want to check my thyroid levels and pretty much everything else they can check for.

It sounds drastic, but with the onset of my Fibro, my chronic pain, my GI issues, and all the symptoms I am having, i mean something has to be at the base of all of this right?

And theres that big hard lump under my molars on the inside of my gums. That needs to be checked too. I HAVE to get to the dentist because i get tooth pain ALOT. I HATE the dentist.

Someone suggested i get them to do a broad spectrum set of tests just to see if anything comes up and i think its a good idea. I want to feel better for a LONG time, not just a few days at a time and i dont want to be taking meds to cover up something that might not even be the case, you know what i mean?

What does everyone think?

Definitely get the thyroid tests {{{{{bowzzie}}}}}

the first symptoms we got when our thyroid went down were what they now choose to call "fibromyalgia-like" symptoms, also GI changes can be a common symptom

vitamin & mineral testing would be good too, in fact make them do every test you can think of (we might be able to help with the list)

will you get this free ?
we have to supplement what the NHS pays for some tests Im going to ask for testing
& dentists cost a fortune Im going to ask for testing

when do you go home ?

Im going to ask for testing Im going to ask for testing Im going to ask for testing Im going to ask for testing

If you can afford to pay a doctor directly for those tests, yes they will do them. If you can't it might be difficult to get insurance to pay the doctor..so they would be reluctant to do them.

I assume you have had a basic metabolic workup? Has your GI doctor scoped you?

Hugs zozo.

Yes, its all covered where I am in Canada thankfully. Any tips you can give me are muchly appreciated. My thyroid was ok during pregnancy, but ive been told it can take a while to show sometimes.

Dentist is paid for by the social assistance i get, all but thirty percent i think, so i can manage it as long as its not horribly expensive, and even then they will do payment plans with me so I am good.

((( HUGS ))) - What you wrote in your first post sounds just like me ten years ago when my body started to go nuts on me... and after many test and procedures were done (many times over mind you) the doctors found that it was coming from my RA & Fibro.... these two Autoimmune Disorders can and will defunk your entire body and organs when they are active.

Yes, definately get full blood tests and all. I had a great doctor for awhile where I use to live and I got mailed copies of my blood tests too! That was very interesting reading up on. I haven't seen any of mine with this doctor and just take his word for it if something is high/low, and needs help. I have another big blood test in September and I'll ask for the numbers I want (cholesterol, thyroid, etc.) when I see him. I'm working on my diet and health and can tell things are getting better.

Yes, definately get blood, urine, etc.

I suggest a celiac disease blood test also. They can test for antibodies to gluten. Celiac can cause the symptoms you describe.

I just read your July message about being tested for Lyme, etc. and wonder how that's coming along. I was recently diagnosed and am in treatment. I have a LOT to learn about it but have also learned a bit and happy to share what I can. Wishing you the very best, speedy recovery, and all that.
