So, for the past month or so I have been having a minor chest pain. It's nothing major and it's not from panic attacks I know because it's not a 'heart beating out of your chest' feeling, it's a 'jabbing in the chest feeling'. The past few days I have had bad heartburn, constipation and nasty acid reflux.

On Thursday morning I woke up and felt like I got hit by a truck or something. I was so tired and I had a really hard time getting up. I was at work, feeling horrible and then went to do the free health screening that my work provides.
They give you a bone density test, blood pressure test and take blood to check your cholesterol, glucose and HDL levels.

Everything came out ok except for the blood pressure....it was 155/106!!! The nurse doing the test was worried, but I was feeling ok so she didn't call an ambulance or anything....which is great cuz I would have freaked.

I went to sleep at 7pm last night, woke up at 5am to get ready for work, took a shower and had a sour stomach with some acid reflux. I called into work, went back to bed about 6am and slept til about 10am. I made myself get up because I want to sleep tonight so I can make it to work tomorrow.

I am just worrying about everything. I hope that my worrying isn't making everything else worse. My BF called my Dr. and I go see her on Monday...I am pretty scared because I just don't like going to the dr.

Is there anything I should ask my doctor about? I am going to tell her everything I wrote here, I just have never felt these types of pains before and don't want to forget anything.

Hugs from a fellow high blood pressure sufferer.

It could very well be that the chest pains you are experiencing are due to the high blood pressure.

Try to stay as relaxed as possible until the appointment - you don't want to push it any farther. And if the pains get bad, or you get a strange wooshing sound in your ears with your heartbeat, go to the ER because those are signs that your pressure is dangerously high. Also watch for headaches and beleive it or not, general crabbiness too. Did they give you a med to take?

Thanks Rainbowzz! I am trying to stay calm and I have had that stange wooshing sound you speak of a couple of times this month. I had no clue what it was! It is weird because I was thinking, 'wow, I can hear my heartbeat....weird!'

Headaches, crabbiness and wooshing sound in ears....got it!

They didn't give me meds because it was just a screening. I am going to the dr on Monday so she may give me something.

Thanks for all of the great info!
