I posted about feeling yucky before and wanted to let you all know that I went to my physician yesterday and she said that I have acid reflux and high blood pressure. It was 163/100 yesterday and on Thursday it was 155/106. She is putting me on meds for both bp and acid reflux.

No wonder you were feeling yucky! I'm glad you went to the doctor, and I'm happy that you are getting the meds you need to feel better!

Glad she found out what's going on!
I would study some on the acid reflux. Often it's because there isn't enough stomach acid to balance the chemicals. Someone takes an antacid for heartburn, and it removes ALL the acid, even the good enzymes. I was having this issue due to taking of meds for pain. I followed what some of the health doctors suggested, and began taking digestive enymes (which are normally in the stomach: lipase, amylase, protease) and voila! problem gone. (You can also check this for yourself by taking a tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar when the heartburn begins. If the heartburn stops, then you don't have enough of the digestive enymes (good acid) and need to replenish them.) There are also good foods to eat that will help lower blood pressure and then you won't need so much medicine for that. At that high of a reading, I would think you'd want to get it down as much as fast as possible. http://ezinearticles.com/?Lower-Blood-Pressure-With-6-Natural-Foods&id=794898 Be sure to let your doctor know you want to try some of these natural things too, so you both can watch for too low of pressure and when you won't need the acid reflux med! Feel better soon! ![]()

I am glad you got some answers.
I am a reflux sufferer too. So I know how bad it can hurt. My dr put me on Tagamet. But so far it hasn't helped >.< *hugs* |

Thank you for the info, Sky!!! I was hoping to find some natural cures. I just hate relying on medications for everything. I am hoping that once I lose more weight, that will help!
I am DEFINITELY going to check out that site and may even try the apple cider vinegar. I think I heard that once somewhere else too...so there must be something to it! ![]() I will talk to my doc about what I would like to try because I would hate to do something only to have it backfire. I want to get my BP down really quickly, but not any quicker than it can go! LOL Thanks for the support and wonderful info! ![]()

I have acid reflux also (and an enflamed duodenum) and it's not nice is it? I was prescribed a lot of things and nothing really worked for me... I eventually was given Nexium and that helped a lot, lot better, but still wasn't great. I've changed my diet now... eating less of certain things and more of others has definitely helped (just annoying that the things I've had to really cut down on are some of my fave foods!)
((((((((((onlymedid))))))))) Hope you're feeling better. Take care, Molly
