Does anyone have trouble with fingernails going soft, chip/tear easily, depressions, ridges and splits up the middle? I can be a little rough on my hands with water & some chemical exposure like strong detergents & some solvents occasionally. I take Effexor and a very small mg dose of lithium. But do pipe up about nail issues no matter what you take or don't. Thanks.

Hi! I would definetly see a physician about the fingernail issue and possible nail fungus? I know in my fingernail experience I had to see my GP then a Dermatologist for treatment. Also, if you are not allergic to latex I would wear latex gloves or plastic gloves when exposing your hands to the harsh chemecials or detergents until you decide rather to seek medical advice from a medical practitioner. Best of luck and hope that you find a cure or answer from a medical practitioner, best wishes krzyk101

I know I should see the doctor about it again but I keep putting that off. I don't have any discoloration and I don't think it's a fungus. I'm not good about gloves and there's no latex allergy. But I've seriously curtailed the hands in water.

I did have a test to check my thyroid levels and came back within range. I was curious if any one has similar and do they believe it's associated with their medication. Or associated with anything!

I'm not a doctor, but I've been told about how sometimes nail health indicates health/mineral deficiencies..

Talk to your doc though!! http://www.humanhand.com/fingernails.html
