sleeping pills or other meds?

any chance you can get them prescribed from a GP?

if not - exercise, no caffeine, 'resting' even if you don't fall asleep... these will help you get through to next week.
Thanks for this!

Dear I Miss My Kitty,

If your prescription, has not yet expired, you should be able to go to a local pharmacy, and have it transferred there. This is accomplished, by a telephone call from the local pharmacy, to the pharmacy holding the prescription. When you get back to school, you can have the prescription transferred back to the original pharmacy, or any other pharmacy, just as easily. An original prescription, may be written as refillable, for as long as one year.

If your prescription is expired, or not refillable. You can have your doctor's office, telephone a new prescription to a pharmacy near you. If the new prescription is refillable, you can transfer it, in the same manner, when you get back to school.

The only snag, you may run into, is that the prescription is of a schedule, that requires a hard copy. I wouldn't think, this would be required for an antidepressant. The requirement, is usually reserved for the more potent pain killers. Most likely, the prescription was in hard copy, and you physically brought the prescription to the pharmacy. That doesn't mean, it had to be that way. The doctor, may have very well, had been able to order the medication by fax or phone.

When you call your doctors office, you need to make it clear, you are out, and it is affecting you. He may want to see you before giving you an extended prescription. Please make it clear, at minimum, you need a ten-day supply to tide you over, until you get back to school.

I wish you the best,

Larry
Thanks for this!

Please call your doctor and let him/her know you are out of medication.
Your doctor knows that it isn't good to stop antidepressant and anti-anxiety meds suddenly because withdrawal symptoms will begin and are not pleasant. Even though you aren't on campus, the doc must have a way to be reached.

To sleep, Tylenol PM may help in a pinch. Calming teas like Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea may help too.
Thanks for this!
