I am wondering how many would like a diabetic social group? I am new diagnosed and think it would be a great support system. I know there are a few of us on pc here. whaddya say?

I really thought this thread would get some kind of action. I know I am not the only diabetic on this forum. really disappointed.

thanks hon. I put that up yesterday with a bunch of looking but not responses lol. I will get started on the social group for sure.

oops..was going to post last night but got side tracked...i'm game.
i've been type 2 non insulin dependent diabetic for about 4 years now. both parents were also so it came as no shock..plus i've been on/off prednisone for about 19 years for asthma so that hasn't helped matters either. honestly for me the diabetis is the least of my worries..i guess because of growing up around it..we never had much sugar in the house so it was no big deal. i'm not a big sweet eater but put a sandwhich in front of me and that's another story. i'm overweight due to the meds and find that to be one of my biggest challenges. every time i end up hospitalized it seems what ever meds they use to stabilize me in the "bin" seem to send my sugars off the charts and i have to go the insulin route. anyway i think it would be an interesting group. |

stumpy I am sorry you have to go thru this too hon. I think if we all have one place to talk we can give each other good support.
