bladder infections can do that.....but so can 1000's of worse things....none of which can really be cured without the right medication & treatment by a Dr.
It's sad when things go wrong that only a Dr can treat, but when we wait for it to go away on it's own....it usually only gets worse & then we really need a Dr to treat something worse than if we took care of it immediately when we noticed the problem. Not that your problem is anything like this, but my mother ignored a problem she had in that same area.....a little sore it started out as (don't know if she ever paid any attention).....then it had to have been a little lump....it had to have been years later when she finally went to the Dr......stage IV vulvar cancer......she died from it. A cancer that when it is caught in the beginning stage is nothing more than skin cancer. What a sad thing to ignore something when we first realize something, thinking it's nothing, or at least nothing serious, or will go away on it's own...& then to realize that what we ignored has that serious of impact on our complete life. Not that your situation is anything like this.....but there is no bleeding like you describe that is anything to ignore or anything that will go away on it's own. Please take care of yourself. I know how horrible it is to go to the Dr....I avoid them when I can......but there are times I know that I just can't look the other way.....please don't.....take care of yourself no matter how hard it is for you....you will be glad after you do & can breath a sigh of relief. could be a urinary track infection, pp. u need to let the doc check that out. if it's that they can give u meds to get rid of the infection. at any rate, it's not normal, so u need to let the doc check it out.

Hi Puffyprue,
I'm not a doctor but this happened to me once and it was a urinary tract infection. If your urine smells bad and it burns especially near the end of peeing then thats what it is. You should go right away to the doctor. All they will do is get you to give a urine sample. Usually by the time you see blood in the urine it means that it's moving up to the kidneys so don't waste time. Good luck and get better soon. ![]() |

I would suggest that you find someone you trust to go with you to the doctors as you could have a UTI or a Kidney problem (urine turns rusty red - looking like blood)... please be safe and go.

Hi puffy,
You haven't fallen in the last couple of days, have you? I fell down stairs one time and bruised my kidney and had blood in my urine. That's a gotta go to emergency room kind of thing. (and it was ok - just bad bruise) I've also had the urinary tract infections too. The first one I ever had I tried to pretend that it would go away on its own. Well, it did not! It got much, much worse. It became so very, very, very painful to pee. You be smarter than me and go ahead to doctor, ok? They will make it better. Women have to go to doctors for down there, sweetie, that's how it is. I like my female doctor...she very understanding and gentle. I've been known to bring someone with me. You know, for hand holding. Just have to do it. You take good care of yourself, you're important. No need for this kind of thing getting out of hand. notz ![]()

Hi ,
don't be scared to go to the doctor. Like the other person said all you have to do is pee in a cup, it's simple. You should go before it gets worse and travels to the kidneys. Hope you feel better. |

Hey (((((((((((((((((((puffyprue)))))))))))))))))))))
I ignored a urinary tract infection once, and it turned into a kidney infection, which turned into a blood infection and nearly killed me and landed me in the hospital for a WEEK. SO not fun. Better to get it taken care of early, okay?? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Its the weekend right now, so chances are you won't be able to see a doctor right away; however, you should see one first thing on Monday and sooner (as in ER) if you have any of the following symptoms: fever (greater than 100.0), flank pain (mid back towards the lower ribs), vomiting, or worsening of current symptoms (eg. darkening of urine, increased urinary frequency, increased pain on urination, chills etc.). The procedure to determine whether or not you have a UTI is very simple (as said before, you pee in a cup and they can tell you within a few minutes if you have an infection). Chances are they might put you on antibiotics any ways simply because of your symptoms. If this becomes a recurrent problem, you may want to look into finding a good urologist to see. As a health worker and some one who personally has struggled with urinary issues before, I urge you to seek medical help for this as soon as possible. I know doctors can be scary, but maybe you can take a friend with you who can help advocate for you. Come up with some questions before you go so you know what to ask when you get there. You can even list symptoms if you have a tendency of forgetting when you get to the doctor. Most health care people are genuinely there to help. Please remember this. I know that some doctors (and nurses) aren't the best at there job, but that is the same as any other profession. You have good and bad ones. Don't let that stand in the way of your health (and then when you get well, try finding a primary health care provider whom you trust and feel has genuine concern for you/listens to your concerns). Good luck! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
