So... the mental health clinic said that in order for them to treat me, I have to be "medically cleared" by my primary doctor because I have been having passing out spells, and they have to make sure that is not medically related.
My question is this... after my appointment, am I supposed to call back the mental health clinic and tell them I have seen my doctor and I am medically cleared and schedule a follow-up or will my doctor call the clinic? |

You will have to call then back and set up the apt and they will probably ask for a letter or Rx from your doctor saying it is ok for you to under go therapy.

make sure that your pcp knows they have to do this, then request that it be typed and a copy mailed to you so that you know when it is done. Also, as soon as you are cleared by pcp, call pdoc and tell them.

*** UPDATE ***
Just got back from appointment, blood tests and urine sample. Told results would either be back tomorrow (Friday) or Monday and they would call me. Then I guess I have to call pdoc and let them know I'm cleared. Thank the Goddess!!! Can't come soon enough!!! |
