I think I finally figured out why I have been so itchy lately. I changed fabric softner sheets to a cheap brand instead of my usual Snuggle. Tomorrow when I get groceries I am going to get some Snuggle and throw away the stuff I have now and see if that helps matters.
Short of rewashing my clothes is there any other way to get rid of the residue on my clothes left by the cheap fabric softner? I have some clothes in the dryer that I washed yesterday and I don't mind washing them again but seems like a waste of water. Any suggestions? Jan

Hmmm good question. I'm also allergic to many products....
If the items are all cotton they don't need fabric softener in the first place. You might try re-drying them in the dryer with a towel that wasn't in the problem loads. Since it was just a sheet and not liquid, it's more likely just on the surface of the cloth (to prevent static cling, which as I mentioned, cotton doesn't get.) I'd have to put a sticky on the wall to remind me not to purchase said sheets again... or I'm subject to do it again. Snuggle is good for me too, but not the wildly scented ones. Fortunately, most of my clothes are cotton now, and I don't need them much. (Only a piece of one for my bed linens.) You probably don't need to wash them over, but rinse water cycle only if the dryer idea doesn't work... Good wishes... let me know what works, ok? ![]()

Sorry you are so itchy - just make sure you have a bottle of Benadryl on hand - Gods Gift to Allergic People.

You might have to just let them alone for a few days, as it seems the fabric softner leaves the clothes rather quickly. I like the snuggle liquid, and can not use dryer sheets of any kind. But, I am also allegic to blue dye, so washing is a real task sometimes for me.
